As some of you know, a bug flew in my ear! LOL. Good news! I went to the doc today and no bug! Hooray! He flushed it with water just to make sure so its much better now.
The last couple of days have been good. We went to a couple of schools yesterday to confirm things with them about me coming. At Mumbi Girls' school, I'll be meeting with a group of girls that apparently make poor choices. SO...pray for them and me that I might be able to help them some how.
Today we walked all around town and confirmed with some churches that some of their youth are coming to the training that we're having tomorrow. It was good to walk around with Emma and Paul and just catch up and talk.
Tonight is a youth dinner! I'm excited to see everyone and hang out.
I know that I'm leaving so much out, but I can't think right now.

June 8th
Sasa? (What's up?)
I'm new to this blogging thing so bear with me. I'll try to keep it updated but I'm not making any promises. I know that many of you wish you were here so badly so I'll try to include as many details as possible so that you can live vicariously through me.
So my first day in Kenya is about over. Not much action today, which I am grateful for. I just got some busy work done like changing money, talking about the plans for the next couple months, etc. I'm excited for what these months will hold. They are going to be full months, but my hosts have given me flexibility to go and do what I want more than planning out day by day. I'm praising the Lord because He has given us both the realization that this is very much a trip about surveying and scouting for other trips as much as it is about winning souls for Christ. I think that I will be able to really get a feel for things that need to be done for other groups that come in the future. Which is awesome because this is my heart!
I have discovered today just how out of shape I am. LOL Patrick and Pauline live in a house up a hill from the center of town and after being dropped off to do some errands, Steve and I walked back. Oh my, the sun was shining and I was sweating. :) I was told today that my weight is perfect for Kenya, but maybe by the time I get home it will be perfect for America. :)
I just got done having a great conversation with Pauline. She came up to my room and we just sat on the bed and talked about all kinds of things. Although I am very far away from home and in a totally different culture, in a way, and only by the Lord's doing, I am home here as well.
I talked with Steve some today while we were walking...btw, Steve is the sort of youth leader for the church here and is going to be a sort of guide for me in most of my endeavors, anyway...we were talking and I told him that since I was going to be here for more than 2 weeks that I really wanted to learn about the culture and the differences between ours and theirs. We're going to trade off. He'll teach me and I'll teach him. I'm really looking forward to learning!
Pray that I'll learn the language as well. I know it seems crazy and impossible to learn a language well in only 2 months, but my God is a big God. I want to be able to converse on my own with those that I meet in the streets.
Welp, I'm going to go eat some amazing Kenyan food and have another meeting with those that will be working with me. I guess check in tomorrow to see if anything interesting has happened.
(Njeri is my Kikuyu name- pronounce Njerry) They've introduced me like that all day. :)
